First Concrete Pontoons Installed at Bali Benoa Marina

21 June 2025 – Bali, Indonesia – Bali Benoa Marina has achieved a key construction milestone with the installation of its first four concrete floating pontoons, marking the start of the water-based phase of development. The project is led by Marina Development Indonesia (MDI) in partnership with PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) and technical partner SF Marina.
The installation was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Transportation, KSOP Benoa, and PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik (SPSL). A total of 11 concrete pontoons, each weighing between 14.5 and 34 tonnes, will be placed at Dock B, which is designed to accommodate 48 yacht berths. Commercial operations at Dock B are scheduled to begin in November 2025.
Manufactured locally by SF Marina Indonesia under licence from SF Marina Sweden, the pontoons are built to international safety standards, designed for tropical marine conditions, and compliant with both national and global regulations.
Beyond infrastructure, the project supports local capability building through hands-on training, technical supervision, and quality control oversight. Indonesian engineering teams are working to international standards under the guidance of MDI’s Marine & Technical Service Experts and experienced project managers.
The successful installation reflects precise execution, disciplined timelines, and the beginning of a larger transformation for Bali Benoa Marina and Indonesia’s role in the global yachting industry.
